Netflix Film Independent's 2008 Spirit Awards
Our client Netflix was the red carpet sponsor for Film Independent's 2008 Spirit Awards. In the past, they had branded the bleachers lining the carpet with banners bearing their logos. Netflix charged us with finding a unique and creative alternative to this branding. We asked the question? Where do you watch Netflix? The answer was, "in your home!" So we proposed building a house on the carpet, cut away so you could see inside. We would let the fans sit in the house and watch the stars go down the carpet.
This idea morphed into a bigger initiative. The end result was that we made the house to look like it was Jiminy Glick's (the alter ego of comedian Martin Short) house. Jiminy invited the celebrities into his 'living room' where he interviewed them and the interviews were streamed to the internet. In addition, in the second story dining room, bloggers sat at the dining room table and blogged about what they were seeing in the Netflix house.
